Create a Maileg Book Nook | Gorgeous Adult Maileg Display

Create a Maileg Book Nook | Gorgeous Adult Maileg Display

This week I created my own miniature Maileg Book Nook display on one of my shelves in the studio, inspired by a photo someone sent me of their own mousey book nook a few months go.

It turned out so cute, and brought me so much joy! Initially I was only creating it with a YouTube video in mind, but I soon realised it deserved its own place here in the blog too.

What I really love about it is that this doesn't have to be for children; adult Maileg collectors (I know there is a lot of us!) can easily create something like this in the corner of a room without it needing to take up loads of space - just a tiny little nook of miniature magic. Of course this would also be totally adorable in a nursery or playroom too!

You really don't need a lot of Maileg items to create this little display either, as the books themselves create the room (or nook!) and some fairy lights do the job of the lamps if you don't have or want those. The matchbox mice already come with their own blankets and pillows (I used extra for mine for added cosy den vibes - but one set would definitely do the trick), and I do plan to make some of my own miniature books for her to have in there soon.

Using the miniature bed canopy in there was my favourite detail along with all the tiny pillows and blankets, and the micro suitcase for a side table to pop her lantern and alarm clock on - how twee!

Arranging the books and fairy lights on the shelf to begin with was actually the part that took me the longest with this set up! Once that was done it only took me 10 minutes to fill with Maileg goodies! I used my MinaLima illustrated fairy tales as the books (linked here if you want some too - it's and Ad| Affiliate link by the way) along with some Disney notebooks I had gathering dust in a corner.

I tried to echo the fairy tale theme with a few nods to the stories; like the pumpkin for cinderella, white rabbit for Alice in Wonderland, and I do intend to add some extra little details soon when I find a little pocket of time. I will also 100% be adding festive touches as we approach Christmas because I think that will look so cute.

If you want to see the full video of how I set up this little display check it out on our YouTube channel here (fair warning there are lots of close ups of my very excited face) and please do share with me if you felt inspired to recreate something similar yourself - I would absolutely love to hear about it.
